Xu, F.Y., & Wu, D. 1989 [Control of bamboo scale insects of intercropping rape in the bamboo forest to attract coccinellid beetles.]. Chinese Journal of Biological Control 5(3): pp. 117-119.
Notes: Abstract: Nesticoccus sinensis and Rhizococcus transversus are two important pests of bamboo forests in southern Jiangsu. Oil seed rape was planted among the bamboo to attract aphids, mostly Brevicoryne brassicae which, in turn, attracted coccinellids, mostly Harmonia axyridis and H. obscurosignata. After rape harvest, the coccinellids dispersed onto the bamboo to prey on scales, which reduced scale population by 97-99%. Keywords: biological control.
