Notes: Two new soft scale insects of Pulvinaria occurring in Japan are described and illustrated. Pulvinaria aonoae sp. nov., associated with Eurya japonica, is close to another Japanese species, Pulvinaria enkianthi. Pulvinaria satoi sp. nov. is associated with the fern Polystichum tripteron, an unusual host plant for a Pulvinaria species, and is similar to Pulvinaria vitis, the type species of the genus.
