Notes: The mealybug, Dysmicoccus walkeri (Newstead, 1891) (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Pseudococcidae), is recorded from Japan (in Tottori Prefecture) for the first time, on the dwarf bamboo, Sasa veitchii Rhehdar var. hirsute. A detailed description of this species, based on the newly found Japanese population is given. The morphology of the Japanese population differs slightly from England population of D. walkeri which is the type locality population, in having more numerous multilocular disc pores on the dorsum, but is here tentatively treated as a morphological variation of this species. A key to the Japanese species of Dysmicoccus Ferris, 1950 is also provided.
