Supranovich, R.V., & Matveichyk, M.A. 2004 [Some peculiarities of the European fruit lecanium biology in intensive-type plum orchards.]. Zashchita rastenii 28: 236-243.
Notes: The biology of European fruit lecanium (Parthenolecanium corni), the dominant pest in intensive-type plum orchards in Belarus, was studied. The density of P. corni reached 101-379/200 linear branch cm. Under the conditions in Belarus, the pest produced one generation. Oviposition by females occurred in the second fortnight of May-June. The larvae emerged during the first-second decades of June. From the second fortnight of August, the larvae migrated from leaves to branches. The stage most susceptible to pest control was when the newly emerged larvae crawled away from the female's body towards the branches and leaves of the tree (second fortnight of June). BI-58 at 2.0 litres/ha resulted in a larval mortality of 99.6%.
