Schneider, B., Podoler, H., & Rosen, D. 1988 Population dynamics of the Florida wax scale, Ceroplastes floridensis (Homoptera: Coccidae), on citrus in Israel. 5. Effect of the parasite, Tetrastichus ceroplastae (Girault).. Acta Oecologica, Oecologia Applicata 9(1): 75-83.
Notes: Non-random sampling of high host population densities of Ceroplastes floridensis and the parasitoids attacking it was the most efficient of three sampling methods studied on citrus in Israel in 1980-82. The most abundant parasitoid was Tetrastichus ceroplastae, which has two population peaks (spring and autumn) a year. Life-table and other studies indicated that although T. ceroplastae was inefficient in reducing host populations, parasitoid populations could have a stabilizing influence on them.
