Notes: The main pest and diseases which affect pineapple (Ananas comosus) in Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais, Brazil, are listed. The main pests are Dysmicoccus brevipes and Thecla basilides, while Fusarium subglutinans [Gibberella fujikuroi var. subglutinans] and Thielaviopsis paradoxa [Ceratocystis paradoxa] are the most important diseases. Notes are given on biology, symptoms and damage, and favourable conditions for each pest and disease.
