Notes: We present a genome assembly from an individual female Trionymus diminutus (formerly Balanococcus diminutus) (New Zealand flax mealybug; Arthropoda; Insecta; Hemiptera; Pseudococcidae). The genome sequence is 313.1 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.68 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 12,939 protein coding genes.
