Notes: The genus Encyrtus in the Afrotropical region is revised and 14 valid species are dealt with, a further two species, E. ventralis and E. cotterelli, being regarded as generically misplaced. Five species are described as new, including E. barbiger sp. nov., a parasitoid of Coccus sectilis and Parasaissetia litorea. The males of two previously described species, E. sacchari and E. bedfordi, are described for the first time, and redescriptions of several species are given to include intraspecific variation. Blastothrix croyphae is synonymized with E. fuliginosus and Eucomys tananarivensis with Encyrtus infelix. Keys are provided to both sexes of the known species from the Region.
