Notes: The first case of Papaya mealy bug infestation in the mulberry gardens of Andhra Pradesh was reported by the scientists of Central Silk Board in a small village, Thallapalli in Palamaner Taluk of Chittoor diestrict on 21st October 2012. The present paper is an elucidation of the incidence which includes the details of technical handling of the situation by timely diagnosis and implementation of intergrated control measures to successfully prevent the spreading of infestation without economic loss to the farmers in the region.
