Panis, A., & Marro, J.P. 1977 L'elevage massif de Chloropulvinaria urbicola (Cockerell) (Homoptera, Coccoidea). [The mass culture of Chloropulvinaria urbicola.]. Fruits 32: 599-606.
Notes: [Summmary also in Russian.] C. urbicola is used for breeding Metaphycus helvolus and Diversinervus elegans used in the biological control of members of the Coccoidae. Successful control of Saissetia oleae on olives following the release of 30 D. elegans females/tree in May/June and 12 M. helvolus females between July and September, is described. The cost of biological control at a planting density of 250 trees/ha would be about 100 F/ha.
