  • Notes: It has become evident that the concept of “predator-in-first” could play a crucial role in sustainable cochineal management in areas of southern Israel that remain free of the cochineal infestation. Since supplying alternative food in our case is not possible, we proposed modifying the ’predator in first’ concept to a ’Predator-Prey Dual Introduction’ approach. This involves simultaneously introducing both the predator and the cochineal from a site where a desirable balance between them has already been achieved.
