Notes: The biology of the coccinellid Cryptolaemus montrouzieri was studied in the laboratory at 24-28°C and 58-64% RH on the eggs, nymphs and adult females of the pseudococcid Maconellicoccus hirsutus. The egg stage lasted 4-5 days and the larval stage 22.8, 13.85 and 13.45 days on eggs, nymphs and adult mealybugs, respectively. The prepupal and pupal periods were 2.15 and 8.5 days. Adult longevity was 55.9 and 61.4 days for males and females, respectively. The mean fecundity of a mated female was 210.52. Each larva consumed an average of 881.30 eggs, 259 nymphs or 27.55 adult females of M. hirsutus.
