Notes: Scale insects are more present on trees in urban environments. Several reasons are pointed out: bad managements of irrigation, fertilization, plant health treatments, but also severe cuttings or bad plants associations. A list of scale insects of economic importance in ornamental arboriculture is purposed. Some alternative means of pest management are recommended, particularly biological ones.
