Notes: The most widely distributed scale insects in Turkey are Quadraspidiotus perniciosus, Parlatoria oleae, Epidiaspis leperii, Pseudaulacaspis pentagona and Parthenolecanium corni. On the basis of rate of infestation the most important species on apple are Lepidosaphes ulmi, Q. perniciosus, on pear Epidiaspis leperii and Q. perniciosus, on peach Q. perniciosus and P. pentagona, on plus P. oleae and on cherry E. leperii. Four species, Quadraspidiotus lenticularis, Q. marani, Suturaspis archangelskayae and Eulecanium nocivum (?), are new to Turkey. The most infested fruit plants are plum and cherry, regarding both the number of scale species, and the rate of infestation.
