  • Notes: The Marchalinidae is a monotypic family of scale insects that contains a single genus, namely, Marchalina Vayssière, with the sole species, Marchalina hellenica (Gennadius), feeding on pine trees in a narrow area of the Palaearctic region (Greece, Turkey, and Georgia). Although treated as a synonym of M. hellenica, the species M. caucasica Hadzibeyli, found mainly on spruce and fir, may be distinct.
