Notes: The occurrence of five new species from Martinique is reported: one Asterolecaniidae and four Pseudococcidae. 1. Planchonia stentae (Brain), 1920. The South African Pit scale, from Afrotropical origin recorded from Florida, Puerto-Rico and Colombia (Stumpf & Lambdin, 2000) is newly introduced into Martinique, this species is spreading in Caribbean area. It is very closed to Planchonia arabidis already established in this island. It differs from P. arabidis in possessing a fewer number of multilocular disc pores around the vulva. This is a polyphagous species reported from 49 ornamental plant species (Stumpf & Lamdin, 2000). Collected on Tagethes patula (Compositae), Le Robert, 06/10- 2003. 2. Hypogeococcus pungens Granara de Willink, 1981. This cactus feeding mealybug is from South American origin (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru). It differs from related species, H. festerianus and H. spinosus by possessing 3 circuli. It can be used as biological control agent. It is a not obligate gall former species (Williams & Miller, 1999). Developing on Cactaceae, Polygonaceae and Portulaceae. Collected on Alternanthera sp. (Amaranthaceae), Le Lorrain, 03/24-2003 and Le Robert, 06/10-2003. 3. Lantanacoccus sauroides] Williams & Granara de Willink, 1992. This species was described from Haiti and Jamaica (Williams & Granara de Willink, 1992), on Lantana. This is one of mealybugs species producing plant-galls (Williams & Miller, 1999). Narrowly to broadly oval, widest at about mesothorax, dorsal surface with large, bluntly-pointed setae, in groups forming cerarii, on large sclerotized prominences, see complete description in Williams & Granara de Willink, 1992. Collected on Lantana sp. (Verbanaceae), Le Francois 05115-2001. 4. Paracoccus marginatus Williams & Granara de Will ink, 1992. Papaya mealybug from Central America origin has been firstly found in the West Indies in Saint Martin (Matile-Ferrero & Etienne, 1996). This species is now present in all the Caribbean arc (Miller et Miller 2002). This is a polyphagous species with a predilection for Carica papaya. Other hosts of economic importance are cassava, citrus, hibiscus and yam, for more complete host-list see Miller & Miller, 2002. Collected on Carica papaya (Caricaceae) Riviere salee, 07110-2002 and on Lycopersicon lycopersicum var. Heat master (Solanaceae), Riviere Pilote, 10/09-2002. 5. Pseudococcus elisae Borchsenius, 1947. The banana mealybug from northern South America and Central America. This species is very closed to Pseudococcus jackbeardsleyi Gimpel & Miller also present into Martinique. P. elisae differs by several characters in which fewer dorsal oral rims on abdomen (Gimpel & Miller, 1996). This species is known from banana with very few other host-plants, Annona squamosa, Aglaonema sp., Citrus aurantifolia, Coffea arabica and Diffenbachia sp. Collected on Musa x parasidiaca var. Mbouroukou (Musaceae), Le Lamentin 05/013-2003 and 06/25- 2003.
