Notes: The importance of intraspecific variability in scale insects in the Georgian SSR, USSR, is discussed in relation to variations in body colour, shape and size as a result of feeding on different plants; variations in shape and size caused by feeding on different parts of the same plant; seasonal changes in colour, shape and size of the body in males and females; and zonal variations in these parameters. The species dealt with include Parthenolecanium corni, Coccus hesperidum, Ritsemia nanus (Physococcus nanus) and Chloropulvinaria floccifera.
