Notes: The adult females of 2 new scale insect species, Cataenococcus asparodosensis sp. nov. on Phragmites communis [P. australis] from Brazil and Puto salinasi sp. nov. on Espeletia timotensis base leaves, from Venezuelan Andes are described and illustrated. Data are also given on 25 species of Pseudococcidae and 2 Putoidae collected in Brazil and Venezuela, of which 3 are new records for Brazil (Dysmicoccus sylvarum, Phenacoccus hurdi, Pseudococcus calceolariae and 3 for Venezuela (Amonostherium lichtensioides, Chorizococcus caribaeus and Ferrisia consobrina).
