Notes: Archaeococcoids from Mexico: A new species of Cryptokermes Hempel, 1900, and description of all instars of C. mimosae Foldi, 1995 (Hemiptera, Coccoidea, Coelostomidiidae). The adult and preadult females of Cryptokermes oaxacaensis n. sp. are described and illustrated from Mexico. The four stages of development (adult, preadult and second-instar females and first-instar nymph) of C. mimosae Foldi are described and illustrated. The three previously described species are C. brasiliensis Hempel from Brazil, and two Mexican species, C. mexicanus Morrison and C. mimosae. A key to species (in French and English) based on adult females is provided. Species of the genus are remarkable in features of their biology (building a protective structure around their body from secretion of immature stages), and of their morphology (heavily sclerotized median area on venter and/or dorsum of head and thorax in females, reduction of the antennae, reduction or loss of legs, and absence of mouthparts, in adults).
