Notes: A new species, Margarodes soriai, n. sp., injurious to grapevine, Vitis vinifera, in Brazil, is described from the adult female. The colour of the adult female is golden-orange and the shape is elongate with a constriction at the level of the mesothorax. The specimens were found either in the cysts attached to the roots of the vine or in the soil near the roots at a depth of 10 to 30 cm.
