Étienne, J., & Matile-Ferrero, D. 2008 Crypticerya genistae (Hempel), nouveau danger en Guadeloupe (Hemiptera, Coccoidea, Monophlebidae). [Crypticerya genistae (Hempel), a new danger to Guadeloupe (Hemiptera, Coccoidea, Monophlebidae).]. Bulletin de la Societe Entomologique d'Egypte 113(4): 517-520.
Notes: Crypticerya genistae is discussed from Guadeloupe feeding on 37 host plants belonging to eight plant families. The most important families are the Asteraceae, Euphorbiaceae and, in particular, the Leguminosae. No single cultivated plant species is infested yet but it will be important to follow the spread of the scale because of its high fecundity and because it might infest cultivated plants. The only natural enemy of the scale in Guadeloupe found presently is the ladybird Rodolia cardinalis. ~
