Notes: Summaries in English and German; Heteroptera and Homoptera are not very important orders in the alpine grasslands. In the Firmetum especially (2540 m) there are only two spp. of Heteroptera, one of Cicadoidea and some of Coccoidea (Arctorthezia cataphracta; Eriococcus spp.; Pseudococcus spp.) which are unequivocally indigenous. The others, particularly the Aphidoidea, are chiefly brought in by the wind and contribute to the food of indigenous predators such as spiders.
