Notes: New data are provided on the distribution and host plants of 21 species of scale insects from Cádiz Province in southern Spain. Four of these species, namely Dactylopius opuntiae, Coccidohystrix insolita, Dysmicoccus grassii and Vryburgia amaryllidis, are recorded for the first time from Spain. Excluding D. grassii, these species are regarded as invasive in the Iberian Peninsula. Also a list of scale insects recorded from the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands is presented.
