Bartlett, P.W. 2000 New pests and diseases in European Community plant health legislation.. The BCPC Conference: Pests and Diseases Vol. 3: 1159-1166.
Notes: [Proceedings of an international conference held at the Brighton Hilt. British Crop Protection Council.] The EC harmonized its plant health legislation in 1993. Since then, new pest risks have been identified and Tilletia indica, Diabrotica barberi, D. undecimpunctata howardi, D. undecimpunctata undecimpunctata, D. virgifera, Hirschmanniella spp., Meloidogyne chitwoodi, M. fallax, Rhizoecus hibisci and tomato yellow leaf curl virus have been added to the annexes of the core Directive 2000/29/EC. In addition measures to control the import and spread of Anoplophora glabripennis and pepino mosaic virus have also been implemented. This paper briefly outlines the recent history and risk assessment of each of these organisms.
