Agounké, D., Agricola, U., & Bokonon-Ganta, A.H. 1989 Rastrococcus invadens Williams (Homoptera, Pseudococcidae), un ravageur exotique des arbres fruitiers en Afrique de l'Ouest. [Rastrococcus invadens Williams (Homoptera, Pseudococcidae), an exotic pest of fruit trees in West Africa.]. Bulletin du Service de la Protection des Vegetaux 11: 17-29.
Notes: The results are presented of investigations on the distribution, food plants and indigenous natural enemies of the recently introduced exotic pest Rastrococcus invadens in Benin and Togo. The damage caused to mangoes is described, and the intensity of attack on about 20 plants (classified as forest trees, vegetables, shade trees, fruit trees and ornamental plants) is tabulated. A list is presented of 14 species of predators (Coleoptera, Lepidoptera and a chrysopid) and one parasitoid (a species of Anagyrus) of the pseudococcid, with an indication of the country in which they were found. Prospects for control are discussed.
