Remarks
- Systematics: In Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, this species was transferred to Atrococcus, but we are leaving it as Vryburgia until we have more information.
- Structure: Colour photograph given by McKenzie (1967). Adult female body elongate oval, pinkish, dorsum lightly dusted with white, waxy powder, this wax usually denser on last 3 or 4 dorsal abdominal segments; with 2 or 3 (usually 3) pairs of posterior waxy filaments, the caudal pair longest and thickest; venter also lightly dusted with waxy secretion. (Kondo, 2022b) Slide-mounted adult female body broadly oval, 2.20–2.50 mm long, 1.40–1.95 mm wide. Antennae relatively short, each 8-segmented. Spiracles normal. Circulus absent. Mouthparts short and broad. Legs short and stout, hind femora and tibiae with small translucent pores; claw without a denticle. (Kondo, 2022b)
- Economic Importance: A serious pest of Huernia spp. and Stapelia spp. (Kozarzhevskaya & Reitzel, 1977).
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by McKenzie (1960, 1967) and by Zahradnik (1990).
