- Systematics: Among the numerous species included in Trionymus, the only ones that have some affinity with Trionymus scaramellai are T. dilatatus, from which it differs by the presence of a circulus and the absence of dorsal tubular ducts, and T. gracilipes from which it differs by the absence of dorsal multilocular pores.
