Remarks
- Systematics: Danzig (1971, 1997a) noted that in its taxonomic characters this species is indistinguishable from Trionymus multisetiger Borchsenius, but the adult female differs in the colour, host plant and phenology. Both forms (species) were collected in the locality, however, females of T. iridis were white in life and inhabited Iris uniflora, and females of Trionymus multisetiger were orange and lived on Asteraceae. After deciding that these differences represented an example of intraspecific variation, they were synonymized in Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015.
- Structure: Female body boadly oval, up to 4 mm long.
- Biology: Occurring on the roots of the host plant. Young adult females occur at the end of June.
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Matesova (1957) (as T. galatellus Matesova), Danzig (1980b) and by Tang (1992). Good description of the adult female given by Borchsenius (1949). Good description and illustration of the adult female of the synonym given by Danzig (1971, 1980b, 1997a).
