Remarks
- Systematics: Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2015) transferred Spilococcus corsicus to Trionymus when they were unable to find fungiform ducts either in the original description or on the lectotype of the species, eliminating Pseudococcus as the appropriate genus . They asserted that "the presence of "black pigment" in Atrococcus and the absence of this pigment in Spilococcus and Chorizococcus cannot be used as a taxonomic character in the present time," and that Spilococcus is only a North American species.
- Structure: Female body broadly oval, up to 3 mm. long. Antennae 8-segmented. Legs normally developed, hind coxae slightly enlarged with translucent pores. Anal apparatus complete. Both pairs of ostioles present. Circulus absent. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Balachowsky (1933a). Pellizzari (pers. comm.) states that this is not present in Sicily.
