Remarks
- Systematics: Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin provided a new generic concept of Balanococcus, regarding the grouping of trilocular pores near the midline of the body to be an important and unique character. This was in agreement with Williams (2004), but eliminated Balanococcus as a genus. Since they determined that this species could not belong in the genus Pseudococcus, they transferred it to Trionymus.
- Structure: Adult female body elongate-oval, up to 4 mm long, brown in life. Antennae 7-segmented. Legs small; hind coxae with numerous translucent pores present also on adjacent cuticle of metathorax. Anal apparatus with reduced number of pores and spinulae; Both pairs of ostioles present. Circulus absent. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
- Biology: Occurring under the leaf sheaths of the host plant.
- General Remarks: Good description and illustration of the adult female given by Danzig (1985). Good description of the adult female given by Koteja (1988a) and by Tang (1992).
