Remarks
- Systematics: Subfamily: Pseudococcinae (Choi & Lee, 2022)
Trionymus is similar to Dysmicoccus but they differ from each other in the number of conical cerarian setae and in the general number of cerarrii. Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2015) defined Trionymus as having 10 pair of cerarii or less and Dysmicoccus as having more than 10 pair. At the same time, they synonymized Cintococcus, Cannococcus and Penthococcus with Trionymus. However, when Cannococcus was treated as a junior synonym, they transfered the type species C. cannicola to Trionymus but left the other Cannococcus species without a generic placement stating that it is probably unrelated to Cannocoaccus. Because C. ikshu must have a generic assignment, we are leaving it and C. cannicola in Cannococcus until proper generic assignment has been made for C. ikshu.
The genus Penthococcus was erected in view of the presence of "black pigment" after placing specimens in ethanol and postach. Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin (2015) rejected the use of theis physiological character for taxonomic purposes.
- Structure: Antennae usually 7-8 (rarely 6) segmented. Legs normally developed, but sometimes shortened and thick. Both pair of ostioles usually well developed. Cerarii usually numbering 1-2 pars on posterior abdominal tergites. All cerarii with 2-3 conical setae. (Danzig & Gavrilov-Zimin, 2015)
