Remarks
- Systematics: Subfamily: Coccinae. Tribe: Saissetiini. The type species of Parthenolecanium was selected by subsequent designation in Opinion 1303 (1985) of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, following the application of Danzig & Kerzhner (1981a).
- Structure: Dorsal tubercles and pocket-like sclerotisations usually present, occasionally both absent; submarginal band of ventral tubular ducts present; dorsal setae of 2 sizes; marginal setae with pointed or blunt apices, usually not frayed; each leg without a tibio-tarsal articulatory sclerosis (except in P. persicae). (Choi & Lee, 2017) In life, body of adult female subcircular, oval to elongate oval, stigmatic cleft poorly developed, shallow or absent; anal clefts 1/5–1/8 of body length, usually fused; becoming convex or highly convex, up to 7 mm long, colour variable, yellow-brown, yellow-green or brown, often with yellow, brown or dark brown markings. Dorsal derm membranous becoming lightly to heavily sclerotized with age. (Kondo, et al. 2022)
