Remarks
- Systematics: The adult female of this genus is characterized: by lack of cylindrical or other stout derm spines; lack of marsupium; absence of large tubular bilocular pores along margin; presence of a single ventral cicatrix; lack of disk pores within atrium of abdominal spiracles (Morrison, 1927).
The author did not indicate the gender of the genus but there are two species names with masculine adjectival endings so the gender of the genus is treated as masculine. (Williams, 2011)
Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018, resurrected the tribe Monophlebini (including Llaveiini (syn. nov.) within the family Margarodidae to place the genus Monophleboides in relation to other genera that he felt belonged in a subfamily of Monophlebinae (Afrodrosicha, Buchnericoccus, Corandesia, Etropera, Gueriniella, Laurencella, Llaveia, Monophleboides, Monophlebus, Neohodgsonius, Nietnera, Pseudaspidoproctus and Vrydagha)
