Remarks
- Systematics: Bodenheimer (1943) recorded Micrococcus silverstrii from Israel, but this is now considered a misidentification of M. bodenheimeri (Ben-Dov, personal communication, 30/07/1999).
- Structure: Adult female is red, broadly oval and subcircular to pyriform. The appendages are very small and dark yellow. A white waxy tubular filament protrudes from the anal end. Adult male is apterous, red and lightly depressed (Marotta et al., 1995).
- Biology: This species was originally collected from the nest of the ant Tapinoma erraticum (Marotta et al., 1995).
- General Remarks: Detailed description and illustration of adult female, first instar, second-instar female, third-instar female and adult male by Marotta et al. (1995).
