Remarks

• Systematics: Subfamily: Coccinae. Tribe: Saissetiini.
• Structure: Body of adult female subcircular to elongate oval, slightly convex with a flat top or highly convex. Colour variable, generally dull, greyish, brown, orange brown, purplish to pinkish-purple, becoming darker at maturity. Dorsum usually covered in a thin layer of granulose, translucent waxy material; often with lateral waxy filaments and clumps of wax on dorsum, some species dusted in white powdery wax. When wax removed, dorsum either smooth or with an H-shaped elevation resembling species of Saissetia Deplanche. Not producing an ovisac; eggs held in a cavity under body. (Kodo & Joshi, 2022)n
