Remarks
- Systematics: Because ScaleNet does not agree with the lumping of the many margarodoid families into the Margarodidae as suggested by Gavrilov-Zimin (2018) it has been necessary to assign the new taxa described in this publication into the family organization used in ScaleNet. Thus, we have placed Eremostoma klugeri Gavrilov-Zimin and Crambostoma largecicatricosum Gavrilov-Zimin in the Coelostomidiidae even though the latter has several characteristics of the Monophlebidae.
This monotypic genus differs from the other genera of the tribe Coelostoma in the presence of numerous large cicatrices on both body sides of the adult female. (Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018)
- Structure: Adult female antennae and legs normally developed. Mouthparts reduced. Both body sides densely covered with numerous flagellate setae of two man sizes: smaller setae more numberous, all without basal sockets; larger setae less numerous with basal sockets. (Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018)
- General Remarks: Diagnosis and illustration in Gavrilov-Zimin, 2018.
