Remarks
- Systematics: This genus, comprising one species, was introduced as type genus of the family Burmacoccidae. The combination of characteristics is unique amongst both fossil and extant scale insects. The compound eyes suggest a relationship with the archeococcids and the trangular scutellum suggests a relationship with the Monophlebidae. However, the scutum bears a large median membrane in the latter and the wings are totally diferent.
- Structure: Alate male, with compound eyes consisting of a few ommatidia; 10 segmented antennae with large pedicel and numerous short setae on flagellar segments; rectangular prescutum, solid scutum, triangular scutellum, large membrane separating them from mesoprotnotum; hyaline wings bearing microtrichia, with alar lobe for holding hamuli; no pterostigma and flexing patches; narrow halteres; slender abdomen with two inconspicuous lateral apical lobes, with no tail devices; very long penial sheath consisting of definitebasal capsule and stylus.
- General Remarks: Description and definition by Koteja (2004).
