Remarks
- Systematics: Acanthococcus saltensis sp. nov. Is similar to A. jorgenseni (Morrison) because they have the same type of dorsal setae, thickened ventral setae and ventral cruciform pores. They differ by (characters of A. saltensis in parentheses): 1. Antennas with seven segments (six segments), 2. Absent frontal lobes (present), 3. Absent middle plate (present), 4. Heptalocular pores absent (ventral heptalocular pores present). (Gonzalez & Granara de Willink, 2012)
- Structure: Dorsal surface with abundant conical setae; abundant symmetrical macroducts and microducts of type A and B. Margin of abdomen with two or three setae of different sizes. Ventral surface with enlarged conical submarginal setae along the body; Metathoracic coxae with approximately 30 pores; Frontal lobes present. (Gonzalez & Granara de Willink, 2012)
