Remarks
- Systematics: Acanthococcus burruyaquensis resembles Acanthococcus saltensis González & Granara de Willink because both have conical dorsal and marginal setae, the three pairs of tibia With five setae; Frontal lobes, microducts of two types and sclerosed anal tube. They differ Because A. saltensis has a greater number of dorsal setae; Numerous microconducts on the ventral surface, heptalocular pores on the venter, middle plate, and anal ring with six setae and antennae with six segments. It resembles Acanthococcus jorgenseni (Morrison) in having conical setae, antennae with seven segments and microducts of two types. They differ because A. jorgenseni has two setae on the first segment of the labium, metacoxae with 40 translucent pores, three ventral setae on the anal lobes and lacks frontal lobes.
